San Diego

Today I'm here in sunny San Diego, enjoying breakfast on Coronado Island in Cafe 1134. If you ever make it here, try the Myconos Egg Scramble. Delicious. Eggs scrambled with feta, red onions, and fresh basil, served with a side of fruit and a baguette, along with the Au Lait I ordered, makes it a light and filling perfect meal to start off this beautiful day.

Stacey is a couple blocks away tanning and waxing clients, and I'm up next. As you know, I've never been one for too much tanning, much less fake tanning, but today I'm g
oing for it. Stacey "Spray Tans" which is most likely not the correct name, but it seems like the best way to actually get an even tan while faking it. I'll let you know the results.

I've been here since Wednesday evening, and so far nothing too exciting has happened. Not that I was expecting it to, I'm basically just here to enjoy the company of Stacey, Noah, and Danny (when he's not working at least). Stacey's 2nd job of chauffeuring little girls is a lot more conducive to me hanging around, so her working doesn't infringe as much on hang out time. Noah has been completely adorable, as to be expected. His vocabulary and ability to communicate has grown enormously since I saw him last, in January(!). He's constantly babbling, though much of it is intelligible now. As long as you know a little Spanish, and can separate out his own personal blend of Spanglish. He's well trained to be a nice young man and says his pleases (or por favors) and thank yous (or gracias's) readily. Last night, in between taking a shower with Daddy, he found my (not)silk scarf and fell in love. After the shower, he did some dancing with the scarf that hilariously resembled some male *dancer* action. We took some great photos that I can share if you're interested. Apparently, some of those fancy child-toy designers sell scarves like mine for children (and of course charge way higher prices).  They're part of a group of *imagination* toys that are simple
objects that children transform into whatever they want all through the power of their imagination. Great idea.

So that is how much trip has gone so far, now i'm going to get back to trying to work on my take home exam thats due by Monday. Which is, of course, the last thing I want to do while sitting in the sunshine on vacation.

Cheers,
Katie

A new blog for a new era

I've been blogging online since my early teen years, when we had the internet for the first time at home. (Remember dial-up?) Over the years, things have changed a great deal. As I venture through my 24th year and beyond, headed toward graduation, travels, grad school, and more, I will continue to document life as I always have.

Look forward to more regular posting than I've been putting forth in the past year, and as Devlin Donnelly once said...

To the Future!

Yours,
Katie
